Ah! What an Audacity

It may be sheer coincidence, it may be something else but as soon as I came out of the cinema hall, after watching the Hindi movie 'A Wednesday', I came to know that the national capital has been, yet again, targeted by terrorists. 5 blasts took place in the most crowded areas of the city killing 25 people and leaving 90 injured. I knew these numbers would increase.

For starters, the movie I had seen just a while ago was based on the Terror attacks on Mumbai local trains a couple of years back. I would not prefer giving too much away about the movie. But the coincidence which I mentioned above, relates to a scene in the movie. Here, the protagonist speaks which roughly translates to:

"I am sure what happened in Mumbai was not merely a terrorist attack, it was a question also. A question asked by those terrorists to us, to the society. They meant to ask..'See, we will continue killing you people in the same manner, what can you do?' "

I could not help wonder that, just like the protagonist in the movie had spoke, these terrorists have asked the question once again...on an Saturday evening...I shuddered to think.. if people are not safe in the national capital...just think about those lesser mortals in other parts of the country...

As usual all the news channels kept on flashing the 'Breaking News'. One News channel was quick to point out that it was their reporter who reached the blast site first...Oh!! what an achievement..truly!!!

All the politicians started voicing out their opinions..Everyone condemned the blasts..cliches such as 'remain calm', 'don't panic', ' this is a dastardly act'..came out of each one of their mouths..i could not help pitying them..How many times has this happened in the past? And I am sure this was not the last..

We always seem to have only a Plan A against this menace. It is high time we had a Plan B or even a Plan C because otherwise they would continue to strike and quite audaciously at that...
